Description
Lucky Bamboo grows as an upright evergreen shrub, adapted to life in the dense, shaded understory of tropical forests. The shoots are divided into internodes, which appear as light rings from fallen leaves and serve to store moisture and nutrients. The lanceolate shape of the glossy leaves allows rainwater to drain easily, preventing water from pooling in the leaf axils and protecting the foliage from rot. Adventitious roots develop rapidly from the stem nodes upon contact with a moist medium, helping the plant anchor securely in riparian soil and recover from damage.
