Description
The ZZ plant is an herbaceous succulent featuring a swollen underground tuberous rhizome that serves as its primary water reservoir. The above-ground growth consists of long basal petioles bearing paired, glossy elliptical leaflets with a thick, leathery texture. The inflorescence forms low near the soil surface, featuring a cream-colored spadix enclosed by a pale green spathe. It belongs to the Araceae family and stores water throughout its tissues, an adaptation that carries it through prolonged dry periods.
