Description
Ficus lyrata grows as an upright evergreen tree with a single woody trunk clad in rough gray-brown bark. Its main botanical feature is broad, guitar-shaped foliage with a narrow waist near the base and undulating margins, designed to capture diffuse light beneath forest canopies. The dark green glossy leaf surfaces are laced with prominent pale veins forming a rigid structural frame to hold the massive blade, while a taproot system anchors the tree firmly.
